Professor Carol Brayne CBE will give a public lecture in Hobart on the UK public health perspective on the changing nature of dementia in human societies.
Professor Brayne is Professor of Public Health Medicine in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care in the University of Cambridge and Director of the Cambridge Institute of Public Health.
With a focus on the public health of ageing, Professor Brayne's research includes longitudinal studies of older people following changes over time in cognition and dementia natural history, from a public health perspective.
Professor Brayne’s studies have been very influential in terms of public awareness and policy development related to dementia.
The lecture is hosted by the University of Tasmania's Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.
