The Tasmanian branches of the Public Health Association Australia and Dietitians Association Australia invite you to attend a free public lecture: “Are diets a big con or do some work?”by Dr Rosemary Stanton OAM.
All are invited to attend this event hosted by UTAS’ Menzies Research Institute Tasmania.
The latest news on our health is grim, with 70 per cent of Australian men and 56 per cent of women now rated as overweight or obese.
So what should we do about that? More protein perhaps? More or less fat or carbs? Raw foods? A caveman diet? Will any of them work?
Dr Stanton will discuss these issues in the lecture. Dr Stanton is Australia's best-known nutritionist. In 1998 she was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to community health through education in nutrition and dietetics.
She has written nutrition textbooks, recipe books and articles for magazines and newspapers throughout Australia. Her major goal is to change Australians' eating habits so that people have healthier diets and lives.
