Nominations open for STEM awards

STEM stars from across the state will be recognised in this year’s Tasmanian STEM Excellence Awards, valued at $30,000.

Nominations are now open for the awards program which recognises people leading the way in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Award categories include – Tasmanian STEM Researcher of the Year; Tasmanian STEM Innovation of the Year; Tasmanian STEM Teacher of the Year for Primary Years; and Tasmanian STEM Teacher of the Year for Secondary Years.

This year the program will also recognise excellence in two new categories – Tasmanian STEM Communicator of the Year; and Tasmanian Young STEM Researcher of the Year.

The awards are supported by the Tasmanian Government, University of Tasmania, Engineering Australia and Inspiring Australia.

Nominations close on September 29 and winners will be announced in November.
